Alternatives to Ranitidine (Zantac)

Famotidine

• In the same drug class as Ranitidine and has the same mechanism of action.
• Available as 10mg or 20mg tablets.
• Can be taken once or twice daily.

Cimetidine (Tagamet)

• In the same drug class as Ranitidine and has the same mechanism of action.
• Available as 200mg tablets.
• Can be taken once or twice daily.

Esomeprazole 20mg or Omeprazole 10mg capsules

• Uses a different mechanism of action to achieve the same result as Ranitidine.
• Usually taken only once daily.
